I've always had a thing for video games, I remember being one of the first kids on the block with the VIC-20, which had an arcade game replica of Space Invaders. Yet, I would also hang out at the Submarine shop and play the Super Sprint arcade game with my friends up until closing time. So platform after platform, console after console, the neverending love affair kept strong.

Now, a couple of friends of mine and I, have decided to develop a site on gaming and gaming culture just because we love it so much. It's going to be fun and exciting, but a welcome challenge, so if you ever need to get your fix, head on over to Console Creatures.com.

Don't worry you don't have to know what an RPG is, or be deeply rooted in the world of Warcraft to appreciate it. It was built on the principal of fun, and that's all we expect you to find on the site.

Colin Munroe "I Want Those Flashing Lights" (Kanye Remix)

So my man Safari hipped me to Colin Munroe a couple of months ago. He made his own remix of "Flashing Lights", before Kanye came with it as a single. I dug it then, but don't know why I never posted it.

So here it is, if you're in the T-Dot, he's doing a couple of shows, I'll be checking him out.

I've been a long time fan of The Clipse since their debut, and the We Got It For Cheap mix-tapes held me down while they were in label limbo. What always amazed me about these guys was their conviction, and while you can question the breadth of their verbal content, (dope, selling dope, pushing drugs), their lyrical wordplay is ill period.

Anyhow, I'm as happy as Brian home alone with Lois for a weekend, (Family Guy ref. for the uninitiated) about this mix-tape, ALL of are The Re-Up Gang represent on this one. Te right dosage of snow to kill the winter blahs, like the ye-yo they slang... straight dope.

It seems that whenever we unearth that great black female artist they go crazy on us. See: Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu.

Well, I've know about Ms. Monae for a while, but finally checked out her indie debut The Audition, and can't get over this incredible artist.

I'm thankful, but as it turns out, she has recently signed to Bad Boy Records. I just hope that Diddy lets Janelle do her, and doesn't allow her album sit in limbo.

New Year's resolutions, I'm not a fan. I'm just a believer that we should create and adhere and stick to resolutions at any time. How often do you hear people making the same resolution year after year?

I'm not saying don't make them, just don't make Auld Lang Syne the reason on why you need to come up with what you need to do for 2008.

I remember when this joint came out, and I discovered there was a third version of this video. I'm sure this was deemed "controversial" by many, ironically it's just a literal translation of the song.

I'm not a religious person, but I admired Kanye's conviction and his honesty with wanting to speak with God but "being afraid cause we ain't spoken so long". Anyhow, I loved this video as he came through with one of the biggest hip-hop video cameos ever. It was fun, cool and not overly dramatic as he is want to do sometimes.

Getting dunked on by Justin Timberlake

Walking into the gym tonight at my regular pick-up basketball run with the boys, I noticed that the 3 women in attendance tripled the usual Friday estrogen quotient by 300%, odd. My instincts were correct and I discovered that Justin Timberlake's in town shooting a movie and is supposed to be coming by and getting his hoop on.

Now I was an N'Sync fan, and swore by his solo debut Justified, however I wasn't too pleased with how he sold Janet down the river with the whole "Nipplegate" incident. I revoked his ghetto pass, and while his new album is undeniable, I've never felt the same about the guy. But now I was feeling a little giddy, I mean it's Justin, and I know he has some skills on the hardwood, am I going to be throwing him a no-look pass, or will I be posting him up? Imagine the profile pic on Facebook...

I was brought out of my daydream by an errant ball and was reminded why I was there in the first place, to get my game straight. So while picking teams, our boy who was supposed to be bringing in Mr. "Sexyback", rolled in with a diesel dude, who apparently is Justin's trainer. So no Justin, no big deal, everyone would have been doing their best to impress him and all. Would've been fun, but that's about as close as I think I'll get to crossing over Justin Timberlake.

See what happens when you have Black Legacy in your blog name? People will automatically assume race is an issue. Not that it isn't, but I'm going to call it like I see it, and I don't deal race cards from my deck.

[Insert late pass request here], but this is still worth talking about. Above is Sony Playstaion's latest ad campaign in Holland for the launch of the new ceramic white PSP device, until now, all PSP's have been black. Now I'm sure all the folks at Playstation, or whomever does their marketing were going for some striking visuals a la Benetton, but personally this comes off with some racial overtones. "White Is Coming", and the positioning of the two models is a little too Aryancentric, (not a real word, just added for emphasis, lol). Wouldn't this be just as effective with two white models wearing a white and a black outfit?

Which begs the next question, what will the imaging be when they come out with new colours, like brown or yellow? Of course this is probably the point, where they want to generate some discussion, controversy or both. But hey, 'm just saying...

chad vader - day shift manager: episode I

I stumbled onto our fair dark lord on youtube, and discovered this series about the other Vader. Chad is Darth Vader's younger brother, and as the title suggests is the Day Shift Manager at the local grocery store. No, this isn't Lucasfilm sanctioned but it's pretty funny, particularly if you grew up on Star Wars. Season 1 is a wrap, but you can catch all the episodes on you-know-where.

I blame Safari.

I had a blog in '05, but abandoned it after a while when I got lax and stopped posting. Then I realized, it should never be a chore, and just to let it flow. Anyhow, since I can't remember how to get into Ill Diction, I decided to roll with something new.

The name? It was kind of in my head, with no specific meaning, although I think it will come to me at some point. Oh, and Safari, just reading your blog inspired me, you do that in a lot of different ways, but you are truly a riddle my friend.

So yeah, this is where they will lay to rest, my ideas, musings, existential ramblings and such.
